Active Matter extraction guide

An extraction is a risk budget. You spend time and equipment to gain information or loot, then decide when the next room is less valuable than the route home. This guide uses the official raid loop as its anchor and adds practical decision rules for a new player.

Make the exit decision early

  • Choose a rough exit trigger before the first fight: a key item, a full medical stack, or one meaningful upgrade.
  • When the trigger is met, stop treating optional rooms as mandatory.
  • If your route becomes noisy or your kit loses its main weapon, reset the plan instead of chasing sunk costs.

Separate value from novelty

The game supports recovering weapons and objects from unstable zones and replicating selected items at base. A strange object can be useful research without being worth a risky detour on a live run.

Use PvPvE pressure deliberately

Active Matter combines PvPvE, PvE, and dedicated PvP experiences. In a mixed raid, a monster encounter can reveal your position to other operatives. Let that information change your path rather than forcing the original route.

After the raid

  • Record what killed the run in one sentence.
  • Repair or replace only what supports your next learning goal.
  • Keep a small reserve so one failed raid does not end the session.
